Dear Friends,

These  few  lines  represent  an  enormous thank  you  to  all friends  of  the Pracatinat  Course  who  for  over  14  years have  followed  our  activity  with  enthusiasm,  and  who have  given us  their trust. By friends  we  mean  both  current  and  former students, all their families,  the  wonderful group of  teachers, our  guests  of honour, the  staff  at  the   Pracatinat Centre , and all our  sponsors,  both  public  and  private. It  is   indeed  a  numerous group  of  people   who  have  been involved  with  the  course  over  the  years, and  their  numbers are constantly  growing. We  thank  you  for  the  continued  interest in  the  course’s  activity,   which  is  in itself an endorsement of   our  aims  to    give young  musicians    a  solid  foundation in ensemble  playing,  to  enhance their  musical  development ,  and    not  least   to  spread the  gospel  of  “chamber  music  playing.”

The  course   has  always been  characterised by  the  unity  of  its  spirit, where a  cohesive group  of   people  of  a  large  variety  of  ages  and   backgrounds  wish  to  share  an important human  and  musical experience.  Now, by creating a “Friends  of  Pracatinat” society we  would  like  to  consolidate this  network of relationships which is   the  result  of  many  years  work  and  fun  together.

Your   joining  the “Friends  of  Pracatinat”  is a  way of   continuing to participate and  contribute actively  in  the  development  of  the  course,  as  well as  giving  testimony  to  its  qualities  and  the  richness  of  the experience  that  have  benefited successive  generations  of  young  musicians. Uniting  our  efforts in a larger  community of  people  who  believe  in what we  are  doing   and  what  we  have  done over  the  years , is a way of  ensuring the  continued  existence  of  the  Pracatinat  Course   at  this  time of  great  difficulty  throughout  Europe,  where  the  economic  crisis  has adversely  affected  funding  for  the  Arts,  and  where   culture  itself, as well as music  education  are under threat.

We are in the  process  of   drawing  up   the official  documentation  for the  constitution of a  society of  Friends  of Pracatinat.
